I have been in the design and construction industry since 1979. Below are bullet points of my educational and professional experience:

• Graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a BS degree in Architecture in 19

• California licensed architect since 1983. Lic no.C14699 

• California licensed general contractor since 2019. Lic no. 1053607 

• AIA member since 1983 

• LEED AP since 2009 

• Draftsperson at Warren Gilbert Architecture from 1979 to 1981 

• Architect, senior project manager and VP of Construction at Grant General Contractors from 1981 to 2006. Design-build single family residential, office and industrial projects. Assisted living, The Home Depot, Walmart, Edwards Theaters, FedEx Express to name a few.  

• Senior project manager at Graycor Construction from 2006 to 2008. National retail projects including Crate & Barrel 

• Senior project manager, VP of Construction at Allgire General Contractors from 2008 to 2019. Ground up and renovation affordable and market rate multi-family, senior living, micro-unit projects 

• Principal of MJHama, LLC from 2019 to present.  

  • Construction management of (3) affordable multi-family renovations comprised of 214-units, affordable senior living renovation, (3) residential subdivision projects comprised of 90-SFRs, and a 19,000SF office tenant improvement.  

  • Project management of a 72-unit market rate apartment project in Chula Vista and a 52-unit affordable multi-family apartment renovation 

  • General contractor for cannabis and FedEx Express TI projects in San Diego, Los Angeles, Bay Area, and Alaska o Project manager for (5) ADUs in San Diego for HDP ADU, LLC o ADU consultant for the San Diego Housing Commission o SB-721 balcony inspections 

• I leverage Procore Construction Software to manage general contractors on all construction management projects  

 When not working, I enjoy golfing and competitive SUP paddleboard training and racing
